Carl Wayne Shultz

October 2, 1943 ~ July 26, 2023

Carl Wayne Shultz, 79, of Williamsburg, passed away peacefully, Wednesday evening, July 26, 2023, at his home.

He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Carl A. and Mary E. “Betty” (Price) Shultz. On November 25, 1961, he married Shirley Jean Updyke at Cove Forge United Methodist Church, rural Williamsburg. She preceded him in death on January 16, 2020, after 58 years of marriage.

Surviving are three children: Sharon A. Burns (Timothy Snare), of Piney Ridge, Carl Douglas Shultz, and Troy A. Shultz (Teresa), both of Williamsburg; a son-in-law, Lee Everts, of Maryland; eight grandchildren: Ashlee Shultz, Randi Farringer, Briana Beck, Cody Quarry, Tiffani Rupert, Jordyn Shultz, Wade Shultz, and Ridge Shultz; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Jean Everts; a son, Jeffrey Wayne Shultz; a sister, Norma Jean Shultz; and an infant brother, Charles “Buddy” Shultz.

Wayne was a 1961 graduate of Williamsburg High School and then went on to complete auctioneering school in Ohio. His passion in life was working as an auctioneer and would travel to find the best antique items. Wayne also took great pride in the work he did on his farm.

He was a member of Cove Forge United Methodist Church, rural Williamsburg.

Wayne loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing and eating out at restaurants with family.

Friends will be received from 4 until 6 pm, Monday, July 31, 2023, at Williamsburg Christian Alliance Church, where a funeral service will begin at 6 pm, Pastor Paul Campbell officiating. Private interment will be held at Presbyterian Cemetery, Williamsburg.

Memorial contributions in memory of Wayne may be given to UPMC Home Healthcare of Central PA and Family Hospice, 20 Sheraton Drive, Altoona, PA 16601.
