Shirley J. Shultz

April 9, 1941     January 16, 2020

 

     Shirley J. Shultz, 78, rural Williamsburg, passed away Thursday morning, January 16, 2020 following a lengthy illness.

     She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Walter E. and Virginia (Heverly) Updyke.  On November 25, 1961, she married Carl Wayne Shultz at Cove Forge United Methodist Church, rural Williamsburg.

     Surviving are her beloved husband of 58 years; a daughter, Sharon A. (Timothy Snare) Burns of Piney Ridge; two sons: Carl Douglas (Elaine) Shultz and Troy A. (Teresa) Shultz, both of Williamsburg; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Thomas J. Updyke; three sisters: Karen Pacifico, Edwarda Lee and Sandee Moore; and a son-in-law, Lee Everts.

     She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Jean Everts; and a son, Jeffrey Wayne Shultz.

     Shirley attended Altoona High School and was a loving mother and homemaker.   She loved spending time with her family, her pet cats and favorite dog, “Sammy.”

     At the request of the deceased, there will be no public services.  Private interment will be held at Presbyterian Cemetery, Williamsburg.

     Memorial contributions in memory of Shirley may be given to the American Cancer Society, 1004 N. Juniata St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
