Robert J. Brubaker

August 14, 1943     July 11, 2017

     Robert J. Brubaker, 73, rural Williamsburg, went home to be with his Lord, Tuesday afternoon at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh after an extended illness.

     He was born in Altoona, son of the late Emmert R. and Eleanor G. (Loose) Brubaker.  On November 20, 1994 he married Barbara C. Carney at Fairview Church of the Brethren, rural Williamsburg.

     Surviving are his beloved wife of 22 years; two daughters: Cynthia K. Scott (David) of Altoona and Karen K. Wilson (Tim) of Smithsburg, MD; two sons: Randy J. (Lori) and Daren A. (Marina) all of rural Williamsburg; two step-sons: Marshall L. Bingham (Tracie) of New Paris and Charles W. Carney of Grazierville; 16 grandchildren; identical twin brother, Richard I. (Linda) of rural Williamsburg; two sisters: Janet Cruse of Hollidaysburg and Peggy Hanzelman of Bethlehem; and his favorite companion, Candy.

     He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald L. Brubaker; and a sister, Bernice Kephart.

     Robert was a 1961 graduate of Williamsburg High School and was a member of Williamsburg Church of the Brethren.

     He was a lifelong dairy and crop farmer in the Williamsburg area and also drove truck for numerous companies over the years.

     Robert formerly served as the president for the Williamsburg Community School Board, Southern Cove Power Reunion, and the Williamsburg Farm Show, where he was currently serving as vice president and he also served with the Blair County Farm Bureau for many years.

     He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and also enjoyed restoring antique tractors, and picking mushrooms, raspberries and strawberries.     

     Friends will be received from 2-4pm and 6-8pm, Friday, July 14, 2017 at Williamsburg Church of the Brethren.  A funeral service will be held at 11am, Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the church, Pastors Glenn A. Brumbaugh and Allen J. Baker Jr. officiating.  Interment will be held at Yellow Springs Lutheran Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.  Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.

     The family prefers memorial contributions be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
