Larry Mark Robinson

November 2, 1945                     September 25, 2016

Larry Mark Robinson, 70, La Plata, MD, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning at UPMC Altoona.

He was born in Atlanta, GA, son of Rheba (Coker) Boss of Tampa, FL and the late Rudy A. Robinson.

Surviving are his wife Ruth Hamman Robinson of La Plata; 2 daughters: Sharon Denise Gryder and Tracey Lynn Robinson, both of Marietta, GA; a brother, Randy Robinson (Nancy) of Sun City Center, FL; a mother-in-law, Marcelline Hamman of Martinsburg; 2 sister-in-laws: Mary White (Rod) and Kristen Jenkins (John); 3 nephews: Ryan Robinson, Robert White and Kenny Jenkins; and a niece, Lena Jenkins.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Mark Robinson.

Larry was born in Atlanta, GA where he was raised Methodist and attended Grady High School.  He then joined the U.S. Navy where he proudly served for 20 years and attained the rank of Navy Chief Petty Officer.  Larry was also employed for an additional 25 years with the Navy in a civilian capacity, as the Director of Workforce Management at the Naval Sea Logistics Center in Indian Head, MD.  This is where he met his wife, Ruth, and together they enjoyed traveling, strolls around Tall Timbers with their four-legged babies (Gracie & Winston), and relaxing at the beach in North Carolina.  Larry also enjoyed reading, history, casino adventures, tractor rides for the kids, and talking politics in the garage (with his best friend, Matt).  He was always positive, and whenever asked how he was doing, he responded, “Perfect”.

Friends will be received from noon until 1pm, Saturday, October 1, 2016 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.  A celebration of life service will follow at 1pm at the funeral home with military flag honors accorded by the Blair County Veterans Honor Guard.  Private interment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Charles County Humane Society, 71 Industrial Dr., Waldorf, MD 20602, (301) 645-8181.
