David B. Wyland Jr., 60, rural Williamsburg, passed away unexpectedly Thursday evening at his home.
He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late David Benjamin “Ben” and Carrol A. (Dively) Wyland. On October 25, 1978 he married Crystal M. Meyers in Hollidaysburg.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 38 years; a son, Jesse D. Wyland (Carole) of Fredericktown; a daughter, Sandra M. Swope (Rodney) of King; 7 grandchildren: Joshua, Leah and Abigail Swope and Taylor, Jack, Lillian and Allison Wyland; 3 sisters: Davida A. Ross (Tom), Donna M. Wyland and Denise M. Allender (Jeff) all of Williamsburg; 2 brothers: Daryl P. (Deb) of rural Duncansville and Duane M. in Nevada; and a sister-in-law, Edith M. Wyland of Williamsburg.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel A. Wyland Sr.
Dave was a 1976 graduate of Williamsburg High School. He was a member of the Williamsburg Volunteer Fire Company Station #90 and also served as an E.M.T. for many years with the Williamsburg Ambulance Club.
He was employed as a Building Maintenance Supervisor at Anderson Electronics, Hollidaysburg for 38 years. Dave loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and also enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and woodworking.
Friends will be received from 4-8pm, Monday, June 5, 2017 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the funeral home, Pastor David F. Banaszak officiating. Interment will be held at Royer Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.
