William E. Delozier

William E. Delozier, 91, of Williamsburg, passed away Thursday morning, November 25, 2021 at The Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.
He was born in Canoe Creek, son of the late Charles V. and Mary Belle (Waite) Delozier. On November 24, 1950 he married Kathryn L. Young in Hollidaysburg. She preceded him in death on January 30, 2019 after 68 years of marriage.
Surviving are a daughter, Marcia D. (John) Cowher of Tyrone; two grandsons: Chad A. Cowher (Maurisa Salmond) of Camden, SC and Shane M. (Kelly) Cowher of Tyrone; seven great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and a brother, David (Connie) Delozier of Wooster, OH.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph “Lefty” Delozier; and three sisters: Jane Allender, Lois Sturm and Pauline Delozier.
Bill was a 1948 graduate of Williamsburg High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War serving with the Infantry Division from 1952 until 1953 attaining the rank of Sergeant.
He was a longtime, active member of Williamsburg Church of the Brethren where he served faithfully in various capacities. Bill was also a member of the Bonner-Sollenberger American Legion Post 456, Williamsburg and the former Williamsburg Memorial VFW Post 6086, where he served for many years as treasurer.
Bill retired in 1998 from the maintenance department at WestVaco, Williamsburg and was previously employed with the maintenance department for Boyer Candy in Altoona. He also did electrical work for many farms and homes around Blair County.
He loved spending time with his family, gardening, and fishing at canoe creek, Bill also enjoyed cooking, baking and watching Penn State and Pittsburgh sports.
Friends will be received from 2-4pm, Sunday, November 28, 2021 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg and from 10-11am, Monday, November 29, 2021 at Williamsburg Church of the Brethren, where a funeral service with military honors will follow at 11am at the church, Brother Thomas Hanks officiating. Private interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
