William Donald Eastep

William Donald Eastep, 85, of rural Williamsburg, passed away Saturday morning, May 21, 2022 at Guardian Healthcare-Hillview, Altoona.
He was born at home in rural Williamsburg, son of the late Roy Adam and Mabel Ann (Yocum) Eastep. On December 21, 1956 he married Mary Gladys McCall in rural Roaring Spring. She preceded him in death on August 27, 2019 after 62 years of marriage.
Surviving are four sons: Kenny D. (Debbie), Daniel W. (Polly), Kevin D. (Beth Sollenberger) and Brian S. Eastep all of Williamsburg; five grandsons: Curtis, Andrew, Daniel, Joshua and Jason Eastep; two great-grandsons: Isaac and Owen; and a brother, Richard Eugene Eastep of Martinsburg.
Bill was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jean Kaurudar; and a brother, Robert Miles Eastep.
He attended Morrisons Cove High School, Martinsburg and later completed his G.E.D. along with his wife, Gladys. Bill was U.S. Marine veteran serving from 1955 until 1959, attaining the rank of Corporal.
After returning from his service in the Marine Corps, he began his carpentry career working for Sam Beegle. Bill then went on his own as a self employed finishing carpenter, which he did for many years all through-out the Cove.
Bill was longtime, faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Williamsburg where he served on church council, cemetery association and for many years helped with the church building and grounds maintenance.
He loved his Lord and spending time with his family, Bill also enjoyed woodworking, hunting and bowling.
A memorial service will be held at 11am, Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Williamsburg, Pastor Tiffany E. Marvich officiating. Private inurnment will be held the church cemetery. Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in memory of Bill may be given to St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, c/o Donald Eastep, 4852 Clover Creek Rd., Williamsburg, PA 16693.
