Walter Samuel “Bud” Brindle

Walter S. “Bud” Brindle, 79, of rural Williamsburg, formerly of Altoona, passed away unexpectedly, late Sunday, January 16, 2022 at his residence.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Walter J. and Mary C. (Kelly) Brindle. On November 19, 1992 he married Doris J. “Blackie” Clark in Winchester, VA.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 29 years; four children: Darin O. of Dundalk, MD, Shari Brindle-Kalke (Ed) of York, Steve M. Brindle (Jan) of Duncansville and Jason W. Brindle (Beth) of Yorktown, VA; four step-children: Russell “Pete” Knisely (Tasha) of Gallitzin, Lisa M. Brumbaugh (Gary) of Williamsburg, Robert L. Denison of Hollidaysburg and Joe J. Denison (Heather) of Williamsburg; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren: and a sister, Peggy Grogan of Riverside, CA.
Bud was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph J. “Jim” Brindle.
He was a 1961 graduate of Altoona High School and was of the catholic faith. Bud retired as a conductor from Norfolk Southern (Harrisburg Yard) after 33 years of service.
Bud loved spending time with his family, especially on holidays. He also enjoyed camping, hunting and was an exceptionally good bowler.
At Bud’s request all services will be private. Inurnment will be held at New Saint Mary Cemetery, Hollidaysburg. Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.
