Thomas James Riley

Thomas James Riley, 86, of Altoona, formerly of State College and Tyrone, passed away, Monday afternoon, January 30, 2023 at Maybrook Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Altoona.
He was born in Williamsburg, son of the late Kenneth J. and E. Rebecca (Brumbaugh) Riley. On June 22, 1955 he married Louise Marmalich at the Christ Lutheran Church, Bethesda, MD.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Louise of 67 years; two sons: Christopher A. (Yvonne) Riley of Centre Hall and Jeffrey L. (DeEtte) Riley of Warriors Mark; and two brothers: David L. Riley of Middleburg and Charles L. (Jovelina) Riley of Duncansville.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael W. Riley; and a brother, Kenneth R. Riley.
Tom was a 1954 graduate of Williamsburg High School and also attended Penn State University Extension Center, Altoona for television servicing.
He was a self employed Broadcast Engineer for many years and was co-owner of T&R Electronics in State College. After his retirement from the Broadcasting Industry, Tom and his wife moved to Tyrone, where the owned and operated Riley’s Bed and Breakfast for 29 years.
Tom loved spending time with his family, square dancing and traveling. He also enjoyed skiing, model railroading and was a longtime member of the Penn State Hand Ball Club.
