Thomas Harold Strum D.D.S.

Thomas H. Strum D.D.S., 87, of Roaring Spring, passed away Sunday morning, July 17, 2022 at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg, following complications from a fall.
He was born in Spangler, son of the late Dr. Clifton H. “Peck” and Juliet V. (Johnson) Strum. He was twice married, first to Patricia A. Veil, who preceded him in death on July 8, 2008 and then on December 19, 1993 he married Carol A. (Burket) Pheasant in Roaring Spring.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Carol of 28 years; a son, Daniel F. Strum (Dawn) of Roaring Spring; two grandchildren: Lauren Strum (Jacob Marion) and Nick Strum (Kelsey); three great-grandchildren: Emily, Brooks and Reese; four step-children: Wayne Pheasant (Tammy), Joel Pheasant (Leslie), Dale Pheasant (Jody) and Bonnie Hileman (John); 16 step-grandchildren; and 22 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas C. Strum; a step-daughter, Tena Marie Pheasant; and a sister, Sandra Leamer.
Tom was a 1953 graduate of Barnesboro High School and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1957 from the University of Pittsburgh, where he completed dental school in 1961. Following dental school, he joined the U.S. Army serving from 1961 until 1963, attaining the rank of Captain. In 1963, Tom opened his dental practice in Roaring Spring, where he continued to take care of his patients, until his retirement in 2017.
He attended First Church of the Brethren in Roaring Spring and was a member and served on the board for Iron Masters Country Club. Dr. Strum loved talking and taking care of his many patients, over his 54 years of practicing dentistry. Tom also enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, fishing and traveling, especially wintering in Florida.
Friends will be received 5-9pm, Thursday, July 21, 2022 at First Church of the Brethren, Roaring Spring and from 10 until the 11am funeral service, Friday, July 22, 2022 at the church, Pastor David Crumrine officiating. Interment with military honors will be held Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
