Samuel G. Manning

Samuel G. Manning, 80, of Williamsburg, passed away Wednesday morning, September 14, 2022 at Maple Winds Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Portage. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Samuel Robert and Ella Mae (Dixon) Manning. On July 2, 1988 he married Penny L. Culbertson in Bloomsburg.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Penny of 34 years; four children: Scott M. Manning (Lane), grandaughter, Niamh Manning of Parkton, MD, Eric M. Manning (Ashley), and grandchildren: Aria Manning and Grayson Robert Samuel Manning of DeWitt, MI, Brian D. Snare, grandson, Zachary Snare of Martinsburg, a daughter, Machelle L. Snare of Martinsburg, and grandchildren: Josh Reed (Kayla), Rachel Reed-Wyandt (AJ), Sheena Kagarise (Justin) and Alicia Bradley (Josh); and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Patrick Manning.
Sam was a 1959 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and attended the Williamsburg Christian & Missionary Alliance Church. He retired in 2004 from the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home where he was employed with maintenance and housekeeping. Sam had previously worked as a welder with Conrail, at the Samuel Rae Car Shop in Hollidaysburg and also at the Altoona Hospital.
He loved spending time with his family, especially traveling with his wife, Penny, watching and going to games with his sons and attending all his grandchildren’s events. Sam also enjoyed fishing, camping and playing cards.
Friends will be received from 2 to 5pm, Sunday, September 18, 2022 and from 10 until 11am, Monday, September 19, 2022 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc. Williamsburg, where a funeral service will follow at 11am, Pastor Paul Campbell officiating. Private interment will be held at Mountain View Cemetery, Mill Creek.
