Robert S. “Bob” Gardner

Robert S. “Bob” Gardner, 62, of Williamsburg, passed away unexpectedly Monday afternoon, November 28, 2022 at his home, following a heart attack.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late George H. Sr. and Dorothy I. (Helsley) Gardner. On September 29, 1990 he married Mary Ann Cornelius at the Cove Forge United Methodist Church in rural Williamsburg. She preceded him in death on October 8, 2018, after 28 years of marriage.
Surviving are a brother, George H. “Herb” Gardner Jr. (Cindy) of Huntingdon; three nieces: Katrina Laughlin, Jeannie Laughlin and Dixie Kyper; four nephews: Shawn Laughlin, Jamie Gardner, Brian Gardner and Shane Lanzendorfer; three special great-nephews: Gavin, Cameron and Gunner Mickey; and numerous other great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Susan I. Laughlin.
Bob was a 1979 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He retired in 2020 from Penn Turf Inc., rural Hollidaysburg and over the years also worked for many local companies, including: Grannas Bros., Hometown Market, Martinsburg Shoe Factory and General Cable.
He was an auxiliary member of the Bonner-Sollenberger American Legion Post 456, Williamsburg. Bob loved hunting, fishing and watching his great nephew play baseball. He also enjoyed watching dirt track racing and helping out as a pit crew member for a few of his buddies.
Friends will be received from 1-3pm, Thursday, December 1, 2022 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg, where a funeral service will follow at 3pm at the funeral home, Pastor Matthew Roberts officiating. Private interment will be held at New Canoe Creek Cemetery, rural Hollidaysburg.
