Robert M. Johnson, 70, Williamsburg, passed away Saturday evening, January 6, 2024, at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring.

He was born in Gadsden, Alabama, son of the late Ralph M. and Carolyn E. (Carson) Johnson. On October 6, 2005, he married Dorcas L. Brumbaugh in Altoona.

Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Dorcas Johnson, of Williamsburg; a daughter, Krystal Johnson of Altoona; a step-daughter, Rhonda Brumbaugh of Claysburg; five grandsons: Brian Weidel, Jason Weidel, Gaige Brogan, Grant Brogan, and Aiden Brogan; one great-granddaughter; two sisters: Debra Cox (Gary) and Sharon Ollis (Keith), both of Centre, Alabama; a brother, Tim Johnson (Barbara) of Glencoe, Alabama; and numerous extended family members and friends.

Robert was a 1974 graduate of Cherokee County High School, Alabama. Following graduation, he went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Army during the Gulf War. During his 13 years of active duty, Robert achieved the rank of Sergeant and was awarded the Southwest Asia Service Medal with Bronze Star, along with numerous other service medals, badges, and ribbons.

For over 35 years, Robert loved owning and operating food concessions, which allowed him to travel with his family and make new friends. His most recent food concession was “Red Bird Café.” After talking with him, you were no longer a stranger, but a friend.
