Robert “Bob” Bruce Yoder

     Robert “Bob” Bruce Yoder, 82, of rural Martinsburg, passed away Wednesday evening, October 27, 2021 at his home.

     He was born in Mattawana, Mifflin County, son of the late Milo Mark and Mary Kathryn (King) Yoder.  On April 4, 1964 he married Wilma M. King in Atglen, PA.

     Surviving are his beloved wife of 57 years; three children: R. Bruce Yoder (Nancy Frey) of Listowel, Ontario, Cindy L. Sauder (Kurtis) of Lyndhurst, VA and Michael K. Yoder of Martinsburg; five grandchildren: Zachary (Juni), Rachel, Jacob, Jeremiah and Deborah; two great-grandchildren: Sophia and Declan; a sister, Julia G. Kauffman (Thomas) of Harrisonburg, VA; and two brothers: M. Leon Yoder (Sara) of Lewistown and Theodore “Ted” P. Yoder (Joann) of Belleville.

     He was preceded in death by a brother, Stanford D. Yoder; and three sisters: Kathryn M. Yoder, Dorothy A. Yoder and an infant.

     Bob was a 1957 graduate of the Belleville Mennonite School.  He was a longtime, active member of Martinsburg Mennonite Church, where he taught Sunday school and served as youth leader.  Bob also assisted as an interim pastor for both the Martinsburg Mennonite Church and Manbeck Mennonite Church in Union County.    

     While living in Mifflin County, Bob owned and operated an agricultural trucking business. After moving to the cove, he opened Yoder’s Farm Service (feed mill) in rural Martinsburg and also served central PA farmers with his mobile custom milling service. In 1984, Bob began working for Pennfield Feeds, where he retired in 2004 with 20 years of service.  Following his retirement from the feed industry, Bob was employed as a U.S. Postal Service contractor.

     Bob loved serving the Lord and his church. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grand and great-grandchildren.

      A celebration of life service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Martinsburg Mennnonite Church, Pastor Joseph H. Furry officiating. A private graveside service was held at Mennonite Cemetery, rural Martinsburg.  Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.
