Raymond Kenneth Pearson

October 18, 1950    January 27, 2021

     Raymond K. Pearson, 70, of Huntingdon, formerly of Williamsburg, passed away Wednesday morning, January 27, 2021 at Penn Highland Healthcare, Huntingdon.

     He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late John H. Sr. and Ellamae (Stone) Pearson.  On December 18, 1976 he married Joyce A. Hughes in Williamsburg.  She preceded him in death on December 7, 2001. 

     Surviving is his beloved fiancée, Patti Nead of Huntingdon; two sons: Bryan K. Pearson (Lori) of Washington and Branden R. Pearson of Altoona; a grandson, Spencer Pearson; a sister, Mary E. Estep; a brother, John H. Pearson Jr. (Sandy) both of Williamsburg; three nieces: Missy Baker (Ron), Amy Repine (Jeremy Leamer) and Melissa Burkhart (Jeff); and two nephews: Michael Estep and Tony Miller (Susie); and many other family and friends that will dearly miss him.

     He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Pearson; and a brother-in-law, Phil Estep.

    Ray was a 1968 graduate of Williamsburg High School.  After graduating, he began working at Owens Corning Fiberglass Corporation, Huntingdon plant, until being drafted into serving his country. 

     He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War serving as a tank mechanic and sharp shooter, attaining the rank of specialist 4th class.  Following his service, Ray went back to work at the plant, where he retired in 2010 as a Quality control inspector with 42 years of total service.

     Ray was a member of Alexandria Sportsman’s Club, Shenecoy Sportsmen’s Club and Standing Stone Creek Hunting & Fishing Club.  He loved spending time with his grandson, Spencer and with his fiancée, Patti.  Ray enjoyed working on his 1930 Pro Street Ford Model A pickup, hunting, especially archery and always staying busy.

     Due to COVID-19 restrictions services at this time will be private.  The family is planning a celebration of Ray’s life for a later date.  Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.

     Memorial contributions in memory of Ray may be given to Huntingdon County Humane Society, 11371 School House Hollow Rd., Huntingdon, PA 16652.
