Paul William “Bill” Cowan, 70, rural Martinsburg, passed away Wednesday morning, March 11, 2020 in rural Martinsburg.
He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Paul H. and Lois E. (Smith) Cowan.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn M. (Corle) Cowan of rural Martinsburg; two daughters: Rebecca Cowan Dick (husband, Russell) of rural Roaring Spring and Kimberly Marie Duffy (husband, Mike) of Altoona; four grandchildren: Vanessa M. and Caleb R. Dick, Brady Q. and Natalie M. Duffy; a step-granddaughter, Janelle Mauk; and 2 step-great grandchildren: Carter and Cameron Mauk.
Bill was a 1969 graduate of Central High School. He ran a dairy farm in rural Martinsburg for many years and opened Cowan Equipment, rural Martinsburg in the late 1970’s, where he bought and sold used farm equipment.
He loved the outdoors and had a great sense of humor and also enjoyed hunting, old western movies and restoring farm equipment.
Friends will be received from 2 to 5 pm, Sunday, March 15, 2020, at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Monday, March 16, 2020 at the funeral home, Pastor H. Lloy Blattenberger officiating. Private inurnment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Bill may be given to Martinsburg Community Library, 201 S. Walnut St., Martinsburg, or your favorite local charity.
