Paul Martin Sands

March 25, 1929    April 25, 2021

Paul Martin Sands, 92, of rural Roaring Spring was called home suddenly to his Savior, Sunday afternoon, April 25, 2021 at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring.

He was born in Smoketown, Lancaster County, son of the late William A. and Emma (Brooks) Sands.  On April 7, 1950 he married Helen M. Ranck in Paradise.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 71 years; two sons: Kenneth E. Sands of Shippensburg and Carl D. Sands (Jacqueline) of Albuquerque, NM; a daughter, Karen L. Lytle (John) of rural Roaring Spring; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Martha Miller (Harold) and Rose Good (Irvin); and a brother, William Sands (Reba).

He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Sands; a sister, Elma Stoltzfus; and three brothers: Amos, John and Richard Sands.

Paul owned and operated a farm in Coatesville for over 50 years, before retiring to his home now in rural Roaring Spring.  He was a faithful member of Grace Bible Church, Hollidaysburg.

Paul loved the many years he worked on their farm and also enjoyed keeping busy around their home, which included planting flowers each spring. He was truly happiest when he was planning and tackling his next project.
