Michael L. “Moby” Dick

March 29, 1956      December 20, 2021

     Michael L. “Moby” Dick, 65, or rural Williamsburg, passed away late Monday, December 20, 2021 at home with his family by his side.

     He was born in Roaring Spring, son of Chester “Leroy” and Bertha (Helsel) Dick.  On July 11, 1981 he married Tina Talbert.  They have three girls: Crystal Forrest (David), Roxie Dick and Alice Brown (Jeremy).

     Surviving are his beloved wife of 40 years; his mother, three daughters; his brother and best friend, Norman; a sister, Wanda; seven grandchildren: Kayla, Ashley, Kane, Deken, Ethyn, Trenton, and Emily; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

     He was preceded in death by his father, Chester “Leroy”; and grandparents, Norman and Ruth Helsel.

     Known as Moby Dick, he was a 1974 graduate of Northern Bedford High School, where he participated on the football and wrestling teams. Michael worked at G. Mitchell Grace Construction, Hollidaysburg and also at Spring Cove Container in Roaring Spring. 

     For all those that met Michael, they knew him for being a loving and big hearted man.  He loved fishing at their family cottage, camping, spending time with his family and especially with all of his grandkids.

     Friends will be received from 5-8pm, Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg and from 10am until 11am, Thursday, December 23, 2021 at the funeral home, where a funeral service will follow at 11am, Pastor Tina Sell officiating.  Interment will be held at Oreminea Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.

     Memorial contributions in memory of Michael may be given to the funeral home to help defray expenses.
