Mary K. Sollenberger

January 5, 1950 ~ October 29, 2023

     Mary K. Sollenberger, 73, of rural Williamsburg, passed away Sunday evening, October 29, 2023, at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring.

     She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late John W. and Sarah R. (Furry) Bailey.  On December 17, 1967, she married David A. Sollenberger at the Martinsburg Memorial Church of the Brethren. 

     Surviving are her beloved husband, Dave of 55 years: three daughters: Kathryn S. Waltermire (Craig) of Rockwood, Anita A. Sollenberger at home and Cheryl L. Lane of rural Williamsburg; five grandchildren: Jessica E. Wood (Nicholas), Jonathon Waltermire, Julia A. Waltermire, Alicia K. Lane and Dustin P. Lane; two great-grandsons: Hunter and Kaleb Wood; a brother, Harold Bailey (Linda) of rural Roaring Spring; and two sisters: Carol Fisher of Armagh and Lois Eisenman of Clearfield.

     She was preceded in death by a brother, Bernard Bailey.

     Mary was a 1967 graduate of Central High School, Martinsburg, where she was a member of the Morrisons Cove 4H Club.  She was primarily a homemaker, who assisted her husband, Dave, with daily operations of their dairy farm along Piney Creek.

     She was a faithful member of Fairview Church of the Brethren, rural Williamsburg.  Mary loved spending time with her family, sewing and completing crossword puzzles.  She also enjoyed preparing banquet meals at the Williamsburg Farm Show Building, for her church family and the Williamsburg Blue Pirates Marching Band functions.

     Friends will be received from 11am until 1pm, Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Fairview Church of the Brethren, rural Williamsburg, where a funeral service will begin at 1pm at the church, Pastor Alan Brumbaugh officiating.  Private interment will be held at Shellytown-Fairview Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.  Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.
