Marvin E. Hicks, 68, of Williamsburg, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, December 10, 2020 at his residence.
He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Virgil E. and Grace L. (Lykens) Hicks. On November 24, 1979 he married Patricia L. Drass at the Williamsburg Church of God.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 41 years; a daughter, Jennifer R. Hoffman (Johnathan Pasley) of Williamsburg; two sons: Nathan E. Hicks (Kelli Brumbaugh) of Canoe Creek and Julian M. Hicks (Brittany Hensley) of Clappertown; five grandchildren: Amber Hoffman, Dennis Hammel, Emily Hammel, Kevin Hammel and Elena Bryan; and a sister, Renae R. Bingham (Charles) of Williamsburg.
Marvin was a 1969 graduate of Central High School. He retired in 2016 from ACCO Brands, Alexandria with over 10 years of service and previously worked as a machine operator for Fonda Group Inc., Williamsburg with over 20 years of service.
He was a member and past treasurer of the Pennsylvania Giant Pumpkin Growers Association, recording his largest pumpkin at 745lbs. Marvin loved spending time with his family and watching classic horror films. He also enjoyed spending time in the outdoors and identifying various species of trees, which was always beneficial when the kids needed to complete their school leaf collections.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions all services will be private and arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.
