Martha Ellen Blair, 92, Altoona, formerly of Williamsburg, passed away Saturday afternoon, December 12, 2020 at her granddaughter’s home in Rotonda West, Florida.
She was born in Williamsburg, daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Irene (Hatch) Lear.
Surviving are a son, John S. Lear of Williamsburg; a daughter, Theresa A. Williams, of Altoona, with whom Martha was residing; six grandchildren: Wendy Crouse (Chris), Tammy Gerardine (Eric), DiKarla Rhodes (Nicholaus), Derrick Williams, Pamela Grove (Stan) and Katrina Weyandt (Rick); 17 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; four sisters: Joyce Verbonitz, Helen Kustaborder, Bernice Wilson and Geraldine Favasoli; two brothers: Donald and George Lear; and loved by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sons: David R. Blair and Clyde H. Blair; a grandson, John D. Lear; a son-in-law, Norman Hornberger; a daughter-in-law, Joan K. Lear; a grandson-in-law, Jason Peters; three sisters: Ellen Whitaker, Thelma Morley and Josephine Lear; and seven brothers: Robert, Benjamin Jr., Walt, Raymond, Charles, Earl and Marion.
Martha was a member of Grace Pointe Community Church (the former Williamsburg Church of God) and years ago worked at Boyer Candies and the Altoona Shoe Factory.
She was primarily a homemaker who loved spending time with her family and also enjoyed crocheting, flower gardening and doing search word puzzles.
A private family visitation and funeral service will be held at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg, Rev. James D Spivey officiating. Interment will be held at New Canoe Creek Cemetery, rural Hollidaysburg.
Memorial donations can be given to the funeral home to help defray expenses.
