Lance Corporal John Donald Frye

Lance Corporal John Donald Frye, 75, of rural Williamsburg, passed away Friday morning, November 11, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Williamsburg, son of the late Clarence J. and Cora Elizabeth (Miller) Frye. On June 26, 1970 he married Nancy M. McCulloch in Royer.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Nancy of 52 years; two children: George E. Frye Jr. (Linda) and Dawn L. Price (John Michael) both of Williamsburg; several grand and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Cora Bernadine Chesney of Williamsburg.
He was preceded in death by a brother, George E. Frye; and four sisters: Shirley J. Smith, Alice M. Wance, Mary Jane Miller and Donna May Frye.
John was a 1965 graduate of Altoona High School. He was United States Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from 1966 until 1969, attaining the rank of Lance Corporal.
He retired in 1999 as a truck driver from Fleming Foods, Altoona, after 27 years of service. John was a member of the Martinsburg Sportsmen’s Association and Bonner-Sollenberger American Legion Post 456, Williamsburg.
John loved spending time with his family and also enjoyed fishing, hunting, mowing grass and working around his yard and home.
Friends will be received from 2-4pm, Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg, where a service with full military honors will follow at 4pm, Pastor Paul Campbell officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Blair County Veterans Honor Guard, 1665 Newry Lane, Duncansville, PA 16635.
