Kathryn G. “Kate” Baughman

Kathryn G. “Kate” (Holland) Baughman, 80, of Fredericksburg, rural Martinsburg, passed away into glory on Saturday evening, March 20, 2021, at the place she called home for the past few years, Garvey Manor, after a brief illness.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Clifton and Ida Belle (Imler) Holland. On October 12, 1958 she married Charles O. “Ted” Baughman in Martinsburg. He preceded her in death on August 3, 2013.
Surviving are a daughter, Carmen B. (Ken) Bilek of Hollidaysburg; a son-in-law, Chet A. Hagerty of rural Martinsburg; two grandsons: Jonathan Bilek and Zeth Hagerty; two step-grandsons: David and Patrick Bilek; four great-grandchildren: Aidan, Camden, Ellison, and Kailey Bilek; three sisters: Sylvia (Bob) Truman, Ruth (Ron) Dibert, and Mary (Dan) Dibert; four brothers: Clifton “Bus” Holland, Charles “Chip” Holland, Harry (Dorothy) Holland, and Emory Holland; two sisters-in-law: Donna (Phil) Linn and Gail Wise; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter on February 9, 1961; a daughter, Carol D. Hagerty; and a granddaughter, Rachel Lynn Gensamer.
Kate was a 1958 graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School and a member of Martinsburg Church of God.
She spent most of her years as a stay-at-home mom, enjoying her family and spending time with her grandchildren. When Kate did work outside of their home, she worked at Holland’s Meat Market, Homewood at Martinsburg and at the sewing factory in Martinsburg.
Kate enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, sewing and doing color pencil art, but her true love was socializing with family and friends.
Friends will be received from 5 until 6pm, Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg, where a funeral service will follow at 6pm, Pastor Daren Ritchey officiating. Private interment will be held at Brumbaugh Cemetery, rural Martinsburg.
