Judith Ann Long

Judith Ann Long, 80, of rural Martinsburg, passed away, Wednesday morning, July 12, 2023 at Pennknoll Village, Everett.
She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late John V. and Vivian (Stewart) Shriver and was raised by the late Raymond K. Frye. On December 1, 1960 she married R. Gary Long in Winchester, VA. He preceded her in death on February 21, 2012 following 51 years of marriage.
Surviving are three sons: Gary Lee Long (Sherry), Dale D. Long (Patti Ann) and Mark A. Long (Dorrie) all of rural Martinsburg; 12 grandchildren: Jessica Helsel, Jenny Tyger, Nicole Brooks, Chelsea Long, Dustin Long, Brandi Long, Candace Long, Shannon Walter, Samantha Long, Elizabeth Long, Brandon Long and Braden Long; 23 great-grandchildren: Rebekah Helsel, Nathaniel Helsel, Johnathan Tyger, William Tyger, David Tyger, Ryan Tyger, Kamdyn Long, Haylee Brooks, Zayne Walter, Elijah Walter, Hannah Brooks, Wyatt Walter, Emalee Walter, Avery Brooks, Ezekiel Walter, Emanuel Walter, Roy Gorman, Lane Gorman, Isabella Freyer, Vaylynn Dutil, Gemma Knisely, Jebediah Long and Zebediah Long ; three sisters: Peggy Hoffman, Audry Siano and Susan Souders; and a brother, Drew Frye.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Terry Stewart, William Shriver and Dean Frye.
Judy was a graduate of Morrisons Cove High School and the Altoona Beauty School. After completing beauty school she worked for many years as a hairdresser, teacher and supervisor. Judy was also a longtime member of Diehl’s Crossroads Church of the Brethren, rural Martinsburg.
She was a past worthy matron of the Saxton Chapter 161, Order of the Eastern Star, where she was queen of Daughters of the Nile and served on Jobel Court.
Judy loved spending time with her family and sharing the word of God. She also enjoyed volunteering at The Village at Morrisons Cove in Martinsburg.
Friends will be received from 10am until noon, Monday, July 17, 2023 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg. A graveside service will follow at Martinsburg Fairview Cemetery, with Pastor Rod Donaldson officiating.
