Joyce Irene Verbonitz

Joyce Irene Verbonitz, 83, of Williamsburg, passed away Saturday evening, January 16, 2021 at her granddaughter’s home in Williamsburg.
She was born at home, in rural Williamsburg, daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Irene C. (Hatch) Lear. On April 25, 1955 she married George Verbonitz in Canoe Creek and he preceded her in death on February 13, 1969.
Surviving are three sons: George F. Verbonitz of Myrtle Beach, SC, Stephen A. (Lori) Verbonitz of Linglestown and Edward E. Verbonitz (Jewely Harstrom) of Williamsburg; two daughters: Catherine A. Waddington (Ward) and Shrenia K. Miller both of rural Williamsburg; nine grandchildren: Jennifer Dransman, Kimberly Frye, Larry Frye, Jillian Via, Allen Edwards, Patrick Edwards, Tamara Walk, Amanda Verbonitz and Cody Verbonitz; 18 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; two brothers: George Lear and Donald Lear; three sisters: Helen Kustaborder, Marie Bernice Wilson and Geraldine Favasoli; and a special friend, Sharon Verbonitz.
She was preceded in death by four sisters: Ellen Whitaker, Thelma Morley, Josephine Lear and Martha Blair; seven brothers: Walter, Benjamin Jr., Raymond, Charles, Earl, Marion and Robert; and a step-granddaughter, Gina Spitler.
Joyce retired in 2001 as a packer from Westvaco, Williamsburg with 36 years of service. She was of the Brethren faith and a longtime member of American Legion Auxiliary Bonner Sollenberger Unit 456, Williamsburg.
She loved spending time with her family and also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and Sudoku puzzles.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions at this time, a celebration of life service will be held at later date. Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.
Memorial contributions in memory of Joyce may be given to March of Dimes, Olde Farm Office Road, Duncansville, PA 16635.
