Joanne Louise Williams

  Joanne Louise Williams, 70, rural Williamsburg, formerly of Towson, MD, passed away Tuesday morning, August 31, 2021, at UPMC Altoona.

  She was born in Altoona, daughter of Rev. Daniel E. Jr. and Ethel N. (Fry) Williams.

  Surviving are two sisters: Charlotte M. Irvin (Gary) and Debbie K. Fay (Dennis) both of Williamsburg; close friend and companion, Bill Hearn of rural Williamsburg; four nieces: Jill, Joy, Jamie and Kelly; and two nephews: Bradley and Scott.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Raymond E. Williams.

  Joanne was a 1968 graduate of Williamsburg High School. She retired as a supervisor of Medical IT and Software from Bon-Secours Hospital, Baltimore, MD and previously worked at Mercy Hospital, Altoona, Warren General Hospital and Liberty Medical Center in Towson, MD.

  She was a member of the Grace Fellowship Church, Leamersville Campus and Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Towson, MD. Joanne served for many years with the Baltimore Board of Elections and was dedicated to serving and supporting veterans.  While living in Maryland she was an active member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.   

  Joanne loved spending time with her family and friends.  She was a very gifted singer and piano player and shared her talents with many throughout her life. Joanne was a social person and enjoyed playing bingo and cards with her friends at Graystone, as well as many others during her time in Maryland.

   Friends will be received from 10 until 11 am, Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Grace Fellowship Church Leamersville Campus, where a celebration of life service will follow at 11 am, Pastor Tim Guyer officiating. Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.
