Jeanne Marie Bolger, 95, a current guest at Homewood and lifelong resident of Martinsburg, went home to be with her Lord peacefully Monday evening, March 13, 2023, at her apartment at Homewood.

She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Kenton R. and Miriam P. (Rearick) Miller.  On December 24, 1949 she married John C. “Jack” Bolger in Martinsburg.  Jack preceded her in death on June 15, 1996, following 46 years of marriage.

Surviving are four children: Jackalyn M. Bolger (Randy Gochnour) of Eagle Creek, OR, John K. Bolger (Connie) of rural Roaring Spring, B. Jill Delozier of Martinsburg and M. Joy Bolger (Earl Henry) of rural Roaring Spring; seven grandchildren: Justin Smith (Lauren), Sarah Beth Hall (Mike), Cori Shirk (Bill), Eric Delozier, Alison Colbert (Vince), Kelly Harris (Justin)  and Brock Hoover; seven great-grandchildren: Kaden, Jaxon, Madox, Jonah, Jossyln, Everly and Maggie.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald K. Miller and longtime friend, Les Nearhoof.

Jeanne was a 1946 graduate of Martinsburg High School, attended Juniata College in Huntingdon and later received an associate degree from the Altoona School of Commerce.  She served for 32 years as a Blair County Jury Commissioner and was the first female elected official in Blair County.

Jeanne was also extremely active in her community and a member of various organizations including: Martinsburg Boosters Association, Nason Hospital Auxiliary, Homewood Auxiliary and The Village Auxiliary, Republican State Committee in Harrisburg, National Republican Committee in Washington DC, Blair County Federation of Republican Women, Morrisons Cove Republican Club, Red Hat Society, and the Iron Masters Country Club.

She was a longtime member of the Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church, where she sang in the adult choir.  Jeanne also sang as a professional soloist for many years, performing with various bands and at many political functions, churches, parades and assisted living facilities.

Jeanne loved spending time with her family at their summer home near the golf course, enjoyed singing and entertaining, watching old movies on TV, participating in politics, shopping for clothes and shoes, and volunteering at the Nason Hospital Gift Shop and The Country Store at Homewood at Martinsburg.
