April 16, 1943 ~ February 12, 2024

     James Thomas Foreso, 80, of Williamsburg, passed away unexpectedly, Monday morning, February 12, 2024 at his home.

     He was born in Altoona, son of the late John M. and Mary H. (Pavlock) Foreso. On November 7, 1964, he married Julia A. Verbonitz at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gallitzin. 

     Surviving are his beloved wife, Julia of 59 years; a daughter, Patricia L. Bell-Radmann (Jason) of Williamsburg; a daughter-in-law, Eleni Foreso of Denver, CO; five grandchildren: Tyler D. Bell, Karas L. Foreso, Miranda L. Bell, Kayla M. Foreso and James T. “J.T.” Foreso II; three sisters: Carolyn Sylvester and Helen Saylor both of Gallitzin and Elizabeth Infinger of San Diego, CA; a brother, Joseph Foreso of Apex, NC; a sister-in-law, Cynthia Foreso of Arlington, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

     He was preceded in death by a son, Reverend Father James Anthony Foreso; two sisters, Anna Foreso, infant sister Foreso; and two brothers: John M. Foreso Jr. and John C. Foreso.

     Jim was a 1961 graduate of Gallitzin High School.  He also completed the General Motors Service Management Degree from the University of Delaware.

     He retired in 2006 as the Service Manager for Pallone Chevrolet, Springfield, VA, where he was employed for over 35 years and in total, worked for Chevrolet for over 40 years.

     Jim was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Williamsburg, where he served on Parish Council.  He was a Fourth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, Edward Douglas White Council in Arlington, VA.  Jim also served two consecutive terms as the Virginia State Deputy for the Knights of Columbus.

     He volunteered and served for various organizations, including: Vice President of Williamsburg Borough, board member of the Blair County Sight Foundation, was the current Williamsburg Lions Club President, and was twice the Past District Governor for the Lions Club International.

     Jim loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He also enjoyed hunting, collecting coins, watching the Washington Redskins and was an avid NASCAR fan.

     Friends will be received from 4-8pm, Friday, February 16, 2024 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg, where a vigil service will be recited.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11am, Saturday, February 17, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Williamsburg, Father Brian Saylor celebrant.  Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.

     Memorial contributions in memory of Jim may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 628 W. First St., Williamsburg, PA 16693 or Pennsylvania Lions Beacon Lodge Camp, 114 State Route 103 S, Mt. Union, PA 17066.
