James R. Kensinger

September 1, 1944     April 24, 2020

     James R. Kensinger, 75, of Henrietta, rural Martinsburg, passed away Friday morning, April 24, 2020, near Water Street, Huntingdon County, following injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

     He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Robert M. and Dorothy M. (McConahy) Kensinger.  Jim was twice married, first to Betsy J. White and then to Connie M. (Creps) Beach. 

     Surviving are his beloved wife of twenty years, Connie; three daughters: Sharon K. (Brian) Keith of New Holland, Wanda J. (Mike) Kephart in Montana and Amy J. (Mark) Weise of Roaring Spring; a step-son, Randy (Barb) Beach in Texas; a step-daughter, Anita (Mark) Burns of Saxton; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Garry D. (Mary), Dennis A. (Jody) of rural Williamsburg and Stanley W. (Patty) of Williamsburg; and many other family and friends that he loved dearly, including his favorite horse, Corona. 

     Jim was a 1962 graduate of Central High School where he was a member of the Future Farmers of America. He also completed courses through the Penn State University Agricultural Department. Jim held various jobs during his lifetime in the farming industry, including: milk tester, farmer, herdsman, and horse dealer, working primarily in Blair County.

     He loved spending time with his family and was also a man of strong faith. Jim enjoyed riding horses, camping, hunting, photography and was an avid book reader.

     Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all services will be private and interment will be held at Diehl’s Crossroads Church Cemetery, rural Martinsburg. Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.

     Memorial contributions in memory of James can be given to Dreams Go On, 1403 Turkey Valley Road, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
