Heather R. Rabits

Heather R. Rabits, 50, of rural Williamsburg, passed away surrounded by her loving family, Wednesday morning, July 12, 2023, following a battle with cancer.
She was born in Allentown, daughter of John H. Martin of rural Williamsburg and Emily G. (McCall) Aurandt of Alexandria. On October 23, 1998 she married Jay S. Rabits in Winchester, VA.
Surviving are her beloved husband, Jay of 24 years; a daughter, Taylor M. Rabits at home; two sons: Jordan W. Rabits of Mount Pleasant, IA and Austin J. Rabits at home; a grandson, Jaxon Montgomery Rabits; two sisters: Holly Grubb (George) of Huntingdon and Jen Miller (Bob Decker) of Williamsburg; a brother, Victor Harstrom (Aimee) of Williamsburg; three step siblings: Jonetta Shaw (Gary), Scott Martin (Wendy) and Jami Mobley (Jesse); a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kelly and Keith Carper; and many nieces and nephews she loved as her own.
Heather was a 1991 graduate of Williamsburg High School and later received her certification in medical coding from the Altoona Vocational School.
She worked as a medical coder at Encompass Health, Altoona for 20 years and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Williamsburg.
Heather loved spending time with her family, especially her grandson, Jaxon and also enjoyed going to the beach and day trips to Rocky Gap Casino.
Friends will be received from 2-5pm, Sunday, July 16, 2023 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg. Private inurnment will be held at Royer Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.
