Harry E. “Eddie” Evans

Harry E. “Eddie” Evans, 77, of Williamsburg, passed away, Tuesday evening, October 20, 2020 at his residence, following an extended illness.
He was born in Royer, son of the late Roy W. and Carrie Kay (Kelly) Evans. On April 16, 1993 he married Carol A. (McGonigal) Trimpey in Winchester, VA. She preceded him in death on May 17, 2001.
Surviving are two sons: Harry E. Jr. of Williamsburg and LeGrand J. of Lakemont; several grandchildren and step-grandchildren; a brother, Roy W. of rural Williamsburg; and longtime friend, Carolyn M. Dishong.
He was preceded in death by a son, Scott A. Nichols; a brother, James Homer Evans; and a sister, Mary Jane Hardin.
Harry was a 1960 graduate of Williamsburg High School and was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1960 until 1962, attaining the rank of Specialist 4th Class.
He owned and operated several businesses during his life, including: refuse hauling, automobile garage, singer sewing machine repair and Stanley Tool sales representative. Harry was a member of the Williamsburg Jaycees, Blair County Antique Club, Bonner Sollenberger American Legion Post 456, Williamsburg and also the former Williamsburg Memorial VFW Post 6086.
Harry loved NASCAR, dirt car racing, fishing, hunting, trapping and boating.
A memorial gathering will be held from 3-4pm, Saturday October 24, 2020 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg, where a military honors service will follow at 4pm.
Memorial contributions in memory of Harry can be given to Williamsburg Public Library, 511 W. Second Street, Williamsburg, PA 16693.
