Greta L. Lytle

Greta L. Lytle, 88, of Williamsburg, passed away Monday morning, April 12, 2021 at UPMC Altoona.
She was born in Lycoming County, daughter of the late Albertus V. and Vera (Kramer) Lughart. On June 18, 1955 she married Roane C. Lytle in Valley Forge and he preceded her in death on May 14, 1976.
Surviving are two sons: Roane C. Lytle of Williamsburg and Timothy F. Lytle of Clarkesville, GA; a daughter, Susan G. Lytle of Williamsburg; a sister, Phyllis L. Mascaro of Quakertown; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Mimi.
Greta was preceded in death by four brothers: Albertus, Earl, Jan and Richard Lughart; and two sisters: Vera Gehr and Sarah “Sally” Conver.
She was a 1950 graduate of Hepburnville High School and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Art Education from Kutztown State Teacher’s College in 1954.
She taught art at the Williamsburg Elementary School and also worked for the Intermediate Unit 8, where she served as a teacher’s aide for special education students. Greta also was employed as a certified nurse’s aide with Homewood at Martinsburg.
Greta served as a board member for the Williamsburg Public Library and Blair County Library System Board. She was a member of the former Trinity United Church of Christ, Williamsburg and more recently attended Zion Lutheran Church in Williamsburg.
She loved spending time with her family and also enjoyed creating water color paintings, gardening and bird watching.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3pm, Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg, Pastor Tiffany E. Marvich officiating.. Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.
Memorial contributions in memory of Greta may be given to the Williamsburg Public Library, 511 W. Second Street, Williamsburg, Pa 16693.
