     Gertrude A. “Gertie” Colbert, 91, Martinsburg formerly of Henrietta, passed away early Thursday morning, March 12, 2020, at The Village at Morrisons Cove.

     She was born in Woodbury, daughter of the late Lester I. and Katharine A. (Keith) Hoover.  On August 16, 1946, she married Charles E. “Buss” Colbert in Martinsburg, and he preceded her in death on August 24, 2000.

     Surviving are four sons: J. Wayne (Janet), C. Steven (Janice), and Timothy L. Colbert, all of Martinsburg and Kenneth E. Colbert of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; nine grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

     She was preceded in death by a son, James A. Colbert Sr.; a sister, Jean L. Albright; and two brothers: Robert L. and John R. Hoover.

     Gertie was a banquet coordinator at Morrisons Cove Memorial Park for 15 years and also co-managed and cooked for the original airport restaurant, Martinsburg for almost 20 years.

     She was a member of Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church and a former member of Diehl’s Crossroads Church of the Brethren, rural Martinsburg.

     Gertie loved spending time with her family, and also enjoyed golfing, bowling, cooking and playing pinochle.

     Friends will be received from 11 am until the 1 pm funeral service, Monday, March 16, 2020, at Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church, Pastor Brian L. McCall officiating.  Private interment will be held at Diehl’s Crossroads Cemetery, rural Martinsburg.

     Memorial contributions in memory of Gertie may be given to Morrisons Cove Memorial Park, 201 S. Walnut St., Martinsburg, PA 16662.
