Fred J. Rodgers

Fred J. Rodgers, 82, of rural Williamsburg, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Sunday morning, September 19, 2021 at his home.
He was born in Williamsburg, son of the late Foster J. and Dorothy Mae (McDonald) Rodgers. On August 19, 1960 he married Patricia A. Troxell at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Altoona.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 61 years; a son, Michael E. Rodgers (Bobby Jo) of Roaring Spring; a daughter, Renea L. Cisney (Mark) of rural Williamsburg; five grandchildren: Alicia Monahan, Ambrie Dilling, Heather Benner, Mickey Rodgers and Rebecca Merritts; 14 great-grandchildren: Ava, Sophie, Wyatt, Kolten, Adalie, Olivia, Zoey, Brogan, Issac, Josie, Harper, Ira, Della and Rhyatt; and two brothers: Robert P. Rodgers and John W. Rodgers.
Fred was a 1956 graduate of Williamsburg High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1961 until 1963, attaining the rank of Specialist 4th Class.
He retired in 1994 as a lineman from Penelec, with 35 years of service. Fred was a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Williamsburg, where he served on Church Council and in various other ways.
Fred loved spending time with his family, especially with his wife, Patty. He was an extremely caring person, who had a wonderful sense of humor and also enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and building model cars and airplanes.
Friends will be received from 1:30 to 3pm, Thursday, September 23, 2021 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Williamsburg, where a memorial service with military honors will follow at 3pm at the church, Pastor Tiffany E. Marvich officiating.
