The following is a poem in memory of Evelyn, written by her son, David A. Kephart, Jr.
"My heart is broken
From losing my mom
With feelings so deep
It’s hard to move on
There’s only one thing
That makes it alright
It’s God’s only son
The Lord Jesus Christ.
Who took her to Heaven
Where family and friends
Will gather together
To meet her again
But let’s not forget
The person we knew
A kindhearted soul
With nothing to prove
Her innocent ways
Were that of a child
She shared a good laugh
And made people smile
She wanted so little
But gave us her all
Whatever it took
She’d answer the call
It was her pleasure
To be by our side
Lend us an ear
And talk to you about life
I miss her so much
I’ll be dying to see
My precious mom
Who always loved me."
