Evelyn Kay Kephart, 80, our wonderful mother, went home to be with the Lord early Friday morning, September 15, 2023, at UPMC Altoona.
She was born in East Sharpsburg, a daughter of the late John H. II and Betty (Mock) Berkey. She married David A. Kephart, Sr. and he preceded her in death on August 4, 2021.
Surviving are two children: Sheri L. Koelle, of Wimauma, FL., and David A. Kephart, Jr., of Hollidaysburg; two grandsons: Ian Koelle (Cassidy) and Colby Koelle, all of FL.; two sisters: Pat Dick and Barb Mattern, both of Roaring Spring; a brother: John Berkey, of CO.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Berkey.
Kay was a 1961 graduate of Central High School.
She loved God and her family and shared her love with all. Kay will be greatly missed. She had a passion for painting and enjoyed painting with her family and friends.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
The family would like to thank Pastor Matt Burns and our friend, Shirley, for all the support and prayers for our family, and to the staff at UPMC Altoona.
In lieu of flowers please send memorial donations to the charity of your choice that is helping children around the world to have fresh water or to Renew Church Altoona, 2300 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602.
Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.
