E. Jane Steele

          E. Jane Steele, 93, of Martinsburg, passed away Monday evening, August 21, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at her home.

          She was born in Martinsburg, daughter of the late John F. and Annie A. (Russell) Klepser. On March 27, 1949, she married A. Lloyd Steele in Brunswick, GA. He preceded her in death on April 7, 2014, after 65 years of marriage.

          Surviving are three children: Pam Harris (Mike), Patty Reid (Jeff), and Mitch Steele (Cherie), all of Martinsburg; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends.

          She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Brielle L. Harmon, and four siblings: John E. “Jack” Klepser, Ronald R. Klepser, G. Louise “Aunt Beasy” Fagans, and M. Joan Klepser.

          Jane was a 1947 graduate of Martinsburg High School and a member of Grace Brethren Church, Martinsburg.

          She loved spending time with her family, and also enjoyed fashion and social events. Jane was a member of Iron Masters Country Club, where she enjoyed golfing.

          Friends will be received from 3 pm until the 4 pm funeral service, Friday, August 25, 2023, at John K. Bolger Funeral Home, Inc., Martinsburg, April Harmon officiating. Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.

          The family extends a special thank you to the Gentiva Hospice Team, especially nurse, Michelle Carper and also to caregivers, Tina Smith and Tammy Feathers, who all were there until the end.

          The family suggests that memorial contributions in memory of Jane and in honor of her great-granddaughter, Brielle, be made to United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation, 8085 Saltsburg Road, Suite 201, Pittsburgh, PA 15239.
