Dr. Larry W. Lykens

Dr. Larry W. Lykens, 73, of Roanoke, formerly of Williamsburg, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday morning, January 28, 2023 at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Thomas Denver and Ruth N. (Moyer) Lykens.
Surviving are a brother, William L. Lykens of Williamsburg; three step-children: Kim Taylor, Jason Cook and Jon Cook; 12 step-grandchildren: one great-grandchild; a special grand-daughter, Ashley Lester; two nieces: Leslie Hammel and Karissa Nevitt; and a nephew, Jonathan Lykens.
Larry was a 1967 graduate of Central High School and later earned a degree in Theology and Counseling from Lee College in Cleveland, TN.
He served his Lord through many years of Evangelistic and Pastoral Ministries: including serving as pastor at the Kellysville Church of God in West Virginia, Williamson Road Church of God, Roanoke, VA and numerous other churches that he faithfully guided for almost 50 years.
Larry loved preaching God’s word and singing his praises with the Pastor’s Trio and also enjoyed deer hunting and watching football and baseball.
Friends will be received from 6-8pm, Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg and from 11am until noon, Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Grace Pointe Community Church, Williamsburg, where a funeral service will be celebrated at noon at the church, Pastor James Spivey, Pastor Retta Lykens and Pastor Chelsey Noel officiating. Private interment will be held at Oreminea Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.
Memorial contributions in memory of Larry may be given to the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home, 449 McCarn Circle, Sevierville, TN 37862.
