Donna L. Bridenbaugh

July 17, 1928     March 20, 2020

 

     Donna L. Bridenbaugh, 91, rural Roaring Spring, passed away Friday morning, March 20, 2020, at Homewood at Martinsburg.

     She was born in Sharon, PA, daughter of the late William A. and Hilda G. (Taylor) Sumner.  On August 23, 1958, she married Robert P. Bridenbaugh.

     Surviving are her beloved husband of 61 years; two sons: Andrew S. (Kim) of Chantilly, VA and Benjamin P. (Amy) of Peoria, AZ; six grandchildren: Molly, Emily, Hannah Sumner, Paul, Garrett, and Delaney Bridenbaugh; and a nephew, Timothy (Patty) Sumner, of Martinsburg.

     She was preceded in death by a brother, Rollin K. Sumner.

     Donna was a 1946 graduate of Sharon High School, also earned a Bachelor of Science Degree and later received a Masters Degree in Social Services from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH.

     She was a self-employed social worker, mostly working for the hospital and nursing homes in the Cove.

     Donna was a member of the East Freedom Chapel and formerly served as the chairperson for the Christian Women’s Club of Blair County. She loved spending time with her family and also enjoyed horseback riding.

    A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Private interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.

     Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.
