David F. Chesney Sr.

David F. Chesney Sr., 65, of Woodbury, passed away Monday afternoon, February 3, 2020 at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Charles A. Sr. and Ruth Irene (Nicewonger) Chesney. David was formerly married to the late Annette L. (Corle) Chesney.
Surviving are a son, David F. Jr. (Linda) Chesney of Williamsburg; six grandchildren: Darrin A. Chesney (Amber Baker), Maria A. and Brittney L. Weidler, David J., Daisy L. and Destiny M. Chesney; three great-grandchildren: Greyson C., Emilia R. and Easton R. Chesney; a brother, Charles A. Jr. (Linda) Chesney; a sister, Ruth I. White of Claysburg; and longtime friend, Justine J. Aukerman of Tyrone.
He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, James White.
Dave was a 1972 graduate of Central High School, Martinsburg and attended Woodbury Church of God.
He previously worked as a truck driver for Grannas Brothers Stone & Asphalt, Williamsburg and Orchard Lane Excavating, rural Roaring Spring. Dave also drove Mennonite folks to various destinations, and worked for the Borough of Woodbury, where he also served as the mayor.
Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing and his favorite pet dog, Dom.
At the request of the deceased there will be no public service. A private interment will be held at Mooresville Cemetery, Neffs Mills. Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
Memorial contributions in memory of Dave may be given to the funeral home to help with expenses.
