Charles Edward Stayer

February 1, 1958 ~ July 25, 2023

     Charles Edward “Chuck” Stayer, 65, of Altoona, passed away Tuesday morning, July 25, 2023, at his residence.

     He was born in Altoona, son of the late C. Virgil and Anna E. (Wolf) Stayer.

     Surviving is a brother, William M. “Bill” Stayer (Denise), of rural Martinsburg.

     He was preceded in death by his son, Davey.

     Chuck was a 1976 graduate of Altoona Area School District and went on to receive his associate degree in mechanical engineering technology from Penn State Altoona.

     He retired in 2020 from SCI Houtzdale, with over 20 years of service.

     Chuck was a member of the Martinsburg Sportsman Club, Mountain Top Sportsman Club, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Federation.

     He loved hunting, fishing, archery, and target shooting. Chuck enjoyed elk hunting in New Mexico and Utah, and deer hunting in Missouri with his brother, Bill.  He also enjoyed watching cooking shows, which he would use for inspiration with his own recipes.

     Friends will be received from 10 am until the 11 am celebration of life service, Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Williamsburg Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, Pastor Paul Campbell officiating.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Chuck can be made to the Rocky Mountain Elk Federation, 5705 Grant Creek Road, Missoula, MT 59808.
