Brian Keith Showalter

Brian Keith Showalter, 74, of Williamsburg, formerly of Harrisburg, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 20, 2021 at his home.
He was born in Williamsburg son of the late Garfield Hall and Geneva May (Treese) Showalter.
Surviving are a daughter, Jennifer L. Shufelt of New York, NY; a sister, Delores R. Weyant of McKee; and many other family members that loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by six sisters: D. Arlene Leamer, Beverly Fay Frye-Snyder, Sandra L. Hunter, Donna J. Showalter, Janet L. Suter and G. Kay Clabaugh; and two brothers: G. Curtis Showalter and L. Kent Showalter.
Brian was a 1964 graduate of Williamsburg High School, where he served on school senate and played both basketball and baseball. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of Vietnam serving from 1966 until 1980 attaining the rank of technical sergeant. While serving, Brian was able to complete his education at Florida International University in Miami, FL.
He was employed for many years as a statistical analyst supervisor for the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Brian was a faithful member of Williamsburg United Methodist Church, where he served as sound technician and treasurer. He was also a member of the Williamsburg Lions Club and Williamsburg Burial Association.
He enjoyed listening to music, watching soccer, but his true love was serving his church and community.
A public graveside service with military honors will be held at 9am, Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, Altoona, Pastor C. Matthew Roberts officiating. Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.
