Bonnie L. (Stewart) James, 78, of Williamsburg, passed away early Friday morning, August 11, 2023, at UPMC Altoona, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late John Stewart and Kathryn (Shamp) Seilhamer.
Surviving are five children: Becky L. Brenneman (Louis), Mindy L. Bishop (David), Tina L. Bowmaster (Randall), David L. James (Valarie), and Daniel L. James (Shane), all of Williamsburg; twelve grandchildren: Joshua King (Adia), Hannah Brenneman, Brandon Bishop (Kayanna), Nathan Bishop, Alyssa Bowmaster (Tyler), Cassidy Bowmaster (Bennett), Dylan James, Anthony James, Abby James, Kyler James (Aya), Alex James, and Evan James; a great-grandaughter, Mina; a sister, Sharlene Kearney (Walter), of Naples, Florida; a half-brother, Zane Seilhamer (Kathy), of Altoona; numerous special nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her dog, Carla.
Bonnie was a 1963 graduate of Altoona High School. She was employed at Williamsburg High School for 30 years, as the high school secretary, until her retirement in 2007. Bonnie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg.
She loved spending time with her family and supporting all of her grandchildren’s activities. Bonnie was the backbone of her family and held dignity, grace, and strength through every aspect of her life. She enjoyed baking, cooking, playing cards with the card club ladies, and attending monthly lunches with her cousins.
Friends will be received from 10 am to 12 noon, Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg, where a funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Pastor Tiffany Marvich officiating. Private interment will be held at Shellytown-Fairview Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.
