     Aneta Ann Claire, 82, of Martinsburg, passed away Wednesday morning, January 1, 2020, at Homewood at Martinsburg.

     She was born in North Woodbury Township, rural Martinsburg, daughter of the late Emmert W. and Ethel Grace (Rhodes) Smith.  On March 1, 1958 she married Frank P. Claire in Martinsburg.  He preceded her in death on April 30, 2011.

     Surviving are a son, F. Duane (Karen) Claire; a grandson, Ryan D. (Joanne) Claire; two great-grandchildren: Colton D. and Lillyava M. Claire all of rural Roaring Spring; and a sister-in-law, Linda L. Smith of Martinsburg.

    She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Cameron P.; and a brother, Ronald R. Smith.

     Aneta Ann was a 1956 graduate of Morrison Cove High School, Martinsburg and a member of Martinsburg Brethren in Christ Church.

    She was employed as a clerk at Reese Drug Store, Martinsburg and Hillcrest Pharmacy in Roaring Spring.  Aneta Ann loved spending time with her family, singing and playing the piano and also enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking.

    Friends will be received from 12:30 until 2pm, Saturday, January 4, 2020, at Bice Chapel at Homewood at Martinsburg, where a funeral service will follow at 2pm, Pastor Tim Guyer officiating.  Private interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.  Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.
