April 5, 1959     July 26, 2018

     William T. “Bill” Tate, 59, Fredericksburg, passed away unexpectedly Thursday afternoon, July 26, 2018 at his home.

     He was born in Altoona, son of the late Robert B. and Vala L. (Reigh) Tate.  On February 2, 1991 he married Debbie A. Criswell at Salem United Church of Christ, rural Martinsburg.

     Surviving are his beloved wife of 27 years, Debbie; 4 daughters: Jill K.T. Norris (Matt), Julie K.T. Grager (Jim) and Jeana M. Flaig (Josh) all of Williamsburg, Morgan J. McGregor (Brandon) of New Milford; a son, Jason D. Hall (Amy) of Martinsburg; 10 grandchildren; a sister, Anne L. Houck (Bruce) of Snow Shoe; a brother, Richard R. (Donna) of Williamsburg; a cousin, Cheryl White of Williamsburg; and many nieces and nephews.

     He was preceded in death by a grandson, Dre Blakeslee Grager.

     Bill was a 1977 graduate of Williamsburg High School, where he was an exceptional football and basketball player.  He was employed for over 25 years as a mechanic at Fonda Inc., Williamsburg until the plant closed. Then he began working for Cenveo, Williamsburg as a mechanic, where he spent the last 14 years.

     He attended Salem United Church of Christ, rural Martinsburg.  Bill was a member of Locke Mountain Rod & Gun Club, Crabapple Hunting Camp, Renovo and Portage Lodge #220 F&AM, Hollidaysburg.

     Bill loved spending time with his family and his trusty companion, Bo and also enjoyed hunting and boating.

    Friends will be received from 2-5pm, Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Salem United Church of Christ, rural Martinsburg and from 10am until the 11am funeral service, Monday, July 30, 2018, Pastor Betty J. Royer officiating.  Private interment will be held at Royer Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.

     The family prefers memorial contributions be given to WJSM Radio, 724 Rebecca Furnace Rd., Martinsburg, PA 16662 or Martinsburg Vol. Fire Company Station 80, 205 S. Market St., Martinsburg, PA 16662.
