     Sara Mae Showalter, 95, resident of Homewood at Martinsburg, formerly of Altoona, passed away Saturday morning, January 26, 2019 at the home.

     She was born in Everett, daughter of the late William L. and Emma (Grove) Foor.  On November 19, 1943 she married Wilfred L. Showalter in Woodbury and he preceded her in death on July 12, 2016.

     Surviving are a son, Rick A. (Jody) Showalter and family of Hilliard, OH; a daughter-in-law, Marsie Showalter and family in West Virginia; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Iva J. Tewell of Carlisle; a brother, Joe D. Foor of Bedford; and many nieces and nephews.

     She was preceded in death by a son, Randy W. Showalter; two sisters; and four brothers.

     Sara Mae was a 1941 graduate of Robert Smith High School, Yellow Creek and a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Altoona where she participated in many church activities.

     She loved spending time with her family and also enjoyed crocheting.

     At Sara Mae’s request a private funeral service will be held at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg and interment at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, Altoona.

     In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in memory of Sara Mae can be given to Grace United Church of Christ, 2300 8th Ave., Altoona, PA 16602 or Homewood at Martinsburg Auxiliary, 437 Givler Dr., Martinsburg, PA 16662.
