Ruth M. (Nicodemus) Hoover-Camenite, 95, Altoona formerly of Martinsburg entered the gates of heaven early Tuesday morning at Elmcroft, Duncansville.

She was born in rural Martinsburg, daughter of the late Oliver F. and Chloe E. (McGregor) Morgan.  Ruth was twice married, first to J. Sheldon Hoover of Martinsburg and later to Frank Camenite of Altoona, both preceded her in death.

Surviving are five children: John Richard Hoover and wife, Joleen of Martinsburg, Doris Gail Boyles and husband, Dan of Altoona, David Rex Hoover and wife, Linda of Mechanicsburg; two step-sons: Frank Camenite in Virginia and Mark Camenite of Altoona; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Nicodemus; a sister, Evelyn Hoover; a daughter-in-law, Doris Hoover; two granddaughters: Nicole and Erin Hoover; and a grandson, Zachary Topper.

Ruth was member of Mt. Pleasant United Church of Christ, rural Martinsburg for over 50 years, and after moving to Altoona, attended the First Church of God.

She spent many years employed at the Airport Restaurant, Martinsburg and after raising her family, worked at Fonda Group, Williamsburg, where she retired in 1985.

Ruth was a wonderful mother raising her children on the farm outside of Martinsburg.  She was always proud of her children and their accomplishments.  Ruth was an amazing cook and even better baker.  She eventually became an active grandmother hosting sleepovers, coordinating trips to flea markets to discover and purchase exciting treasures and conducting impromptu Easter egg hunts at any time of the year.
