     Ruby K. Hoover, 78, of Martinsburg, passed away Friday morning.

     She was born in Sproul, daughter of the late Robert Pershing and Mary Alice (Claar) Hamman.  On August 31, 1957 she married Gerald Rollin Hoover in Altoona. 

     Surviving are her beloved husband of 60 years; a son, Kenneth W. Hoover (Barbara) of Bethel Park; a daughter, Anita M. Hoover (Russell) of Roaring Spring; three grandchildren: Brandi Claycomb (John Stranford), Gregory Hoover and R. Douglas Hoover (Deirdre); two great-grandsons: Grady Michael and Eli Robert Hoover; a sister, Betsy R. Crownover (David P.) of Duncansville; two brothers: William P. Hamman (Mary Jo) of Trinity, FL and David E. Eicher (Sam) of Corpus Christi, TX; an aunt, Sondra Jane Hamman of Duncansville; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved pet, LuLu.

     Ruby was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth S. Hamman.

     She was a 1957 graduate of Altoona High School and longtime member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Martinsburg.  Ruby retired as an unemployment compensation manager from the Department of Labor and Industry, Altoona with 25 years of service.    

     Ruby loved her yearly trip to the beach with her family to Ocean City, MD.  She also enjoyed volunteering in her community, but Ruby’s true love and passion was her family, and especially her grandchildren.

     A private memorial service with Rev. Jerry McCuller Jr. officiating will be held at Bice Memorial Chapel at Homewood at Martinsburg.  Private interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.

     The family prefers memorial contributions in memory of Ruby be given to the Martinsburg Volunteer Fire Company, 205 S. Market St., Martinsburg, PA  16662 or Morrisons Cove Memorial Park, 205 S. Walnut St., Martinsburg, PA 16662.
