Ronald L. Cashdollar

October 25, 1929     April 11, 2018

          Ronald Lee Cashdollar, 88, Buttercup Farm, rural New Enterprise formerly of Woodbine, MD, passed away early Wednesday morning, April 11, 2018, at his home.

     He was born in Turtle Creek, PA, son of the late Lee Floyd Sr. and Gladys Elizabeth (Aird) Cashdollar.  In May of 1955 he married Margaret “Ceil” Healy in Oil City, PA.

     Surviving are his beloved wife of 62 years; two daughters: Gladys Lee Cashdollar of Bedford, PA and Patty M. Unpingco (husband, Joey) of rural New Enterprise; two grandsons: Benjamin C. and Matthew C. Unpingco of Philadelphia.

     He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen “Sassy” Cashdollar; infant sister, Vivian; and a brother, Lee Floyd Cashdollar Jr.

     Ron was a 1947 graduate of Youngwood High School and also attended the American University in Washington D.C.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War serving from 1949-1952, attaining the rank of Corporal.

     He retired in 1984 from the National Security Agency of the U.S. Federal Government with 32 years of service.  Following his retirement he became a full time farmer in Maryland and in 2000 moved to “The Cove” in Pennsylvania and continued farming at Buttercup Farm in rural New Enterprise.  He was a member of the Howard County, MD and Bedford County, PA Farm Bureaus.

     Ron loved his family, John Deere Tractors, his Kubota, his Mennonite friends and neighbors but most of all his two grandsons.

     Friends will be received from 10:30am until noon, and a celebration of life service will follow on, Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Holsinger Church of the Brethren, 2737 Lafayette Rd., New Enterprise, PA 16664, Pastor Robert Bartlebaugh officiating.

     The family prefers memorial contributions be given to Southern Cove Meals on Wheels, 123 Main St., Woodbury, PA 16695.

     Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.
