July 10, 1923      August 30, 2019

 

     Raymond Arthur Ebner, 96, of Martinsburg, formerly of East Chatham, NY, passed away early Friday, August 30, 2019, at Homewood at Martinsburg.

     He was born in Utica, NY, son of the late Raymond John and Catherine Marie (Asher) Ebner.  On May 7, 1949, he married Marjorie A. Stouffer in Waynesboro, PA.

     Surviving are his beloved wife of 70 years; a son, Raymond Charles “Chuck” Ebner of North Port, FL; a daughter, Dianne L. Ebner of Norwalk, CT; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

     He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Marie Virgilio; a sister, Catherine M. Schaffner; and a brother, Robert J. Ebner.

     Raymond was a graduate of the Utica Free Academy and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University.  He served in the Army ROTC, and was a US Navy veteran of WWII, serving from 1944-1946, attaining the rank of Machinist’s Mate, Third Class.

     Raymond worked for 32 years in New York City for Frick Company, before starting EIRCO, which he owned and operated until his retirement.

     He loved spending time with his family, and also enjoyed fishing in Canada, ice hockey and oil painting.

     At the request of the deceased, there will be no services.  Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.
