Ralph E. Zook

May 19, 1932     November 21, 2017

Ralph Edwin Zook, 85, passed away at Homewood at Martinsburg, PA.

He was born in Windber, son of the late W. Paul and Myrtle E. (Weaver) Zook.  On March 24, 1951 he married Dorothy Lee Miller at Memorial Church of the Brethren, Martinsburg.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 66 years: two daughters: Cathy L. (Dan) Truskowski of Hamburg, NY and Brenda M. (Don) Malczewski of Sunset Bay, NY; two sons: Thomas E. (Betsy) Zook and Brian P. (Laura) Zook both of Casper, Wyoming; nine grandchildren: Daniel, Jamie, Kristen, Nathan, Rebecca, Brandon, Clareesa, Sam and Joey; three great-grandchildren: Logan, Shelby and Danny; two brothers:  Dale E. (Ann) of Roaring Spring and Leon R. (Janet) of Hollidaysburg; two sisters: Esther M. Teeter of Pleasant Gap and Carolyn J. Zook of Rochester, NY; and many wonderful nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by four brothers: Gerald L., Ray E., Richard P. and Lloyd C.

Ralph was a 1950 graduate of Morrison Cove High School, Martinsburg.  In 1955 he moved his family to western New York, to work at the Ford Stamping Plant.  He retired from there in 1988 after 33 years of service.  In 1992, he and Dorothy moved to Casper, Wyoming to be close to their sons and grandchildren.  After 22 years of living the western life, they decided to go back home to Martinsburg where their whole life began.  They certainly made a full circle.

He was a born athlete and excelled in any form of competition.  Ralph enjoyed pitching baseball in high school, and later played softball, bowling, basketball, billiards, golfing, hunting, fishing and card playing.  He also sang bass in every church that they ever attended.

Ralph was a donor to the Humanity Gifts Registry at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Friends will be received from 3 until the 4 pm, memorial service, Sunday, December, 17, 2017 at Memorial Church of the Brethren, Martinsburg, Pastor Eric J. Fether officiating.  A fellowship meal will be held at the church following the service.

The family prefers memorial contributions be given to Memorial Church of the Brethren, 210 N. Wall St., Martinsburg, PA 16662.
